My Valentine's Day By: Danielle.
Current mood:
I know this is a bit overdue but here's my story:
On Valentine's Day my boyfriend and I had a huge arguement. I was really looking forward to the whole day until at about noon, we broke out into a bitter ugly arguement, which I did not want to deal with him at all. So much so that after school I grabbed all my stuff from his car and proceeded to walk to my workplace which is only 3-4 miles down Beretania St.
After he noticed what I was doing, he chased me down Beretania to try and talk to me, but by that time I was still mad that he ruined Valentine's Day and didn't want to hear a word from him.
About half a mile into the walk he caught my attention and forced me to listen to his story. He apologized profusely about the fight and we both explained our sides of the arguement and went along our day with him grabbing me a quick lunch and dropping me off to work.
Hours passed at work with me a little ticked with my belief that Valentine's Day was almost over (7pm) and he has not even celebrated it with me at all. Finally, work was over for me and I was cleaning up the office when my co-workers started yelling for me.
Once I came to the front office, I was surprised by a man with a guitar. He asked me "are you Danielle?" and I acknowledged his question and asked me also if I knew my boyfriend. He said my boyfriend sent him to wish me a Happy Valentine's Day. I was so humiliated because this stranger is here for me on Valentine's Day and he's saying this in front of my co-workers and my boss.
It was Junior Kekuewa Jr. and he said he was delivering me a "jam-a-gram." He said how my boyfriend loved me and wanted to show it to me through song. Jr. over and over again kept telling me how much my boyfriend loved me and is convinced that I am "the one." I sat down (not being able to handle this) and Jr. started by singing "you are so beautiful" and two other songs. One which Jr. wrote for me and my boyfriend.
It was so happy, but I was embarrassed, shocked, mad (@ my bf for embarrassing me), and mostly I felt so loved. Then, during the third song, my boyfriend comes out from hiding in the hallway and gives me this platform of a dozen roses. I was crying like a little girl!
My co-workers were so shocked, but a little bummed out because they were expecting my boyfriend to go all out and propose to me that night. (I wouldn't be able to handle that one just yet.) Then we finished up with Jr. taking pictures with us... man, that guy is awesome. He has a hell of a voice.
That was the best Valentine's Day I think I could ever have. It's amazing that things can turn around like that. I felt so unbelievably special that night. I'm so happy that I have such a great guy like him!
